People tend to find themselves in therapy when they have run out of ideas for making meaningful changes in their lives. My approach

to therapy is to encourage an open and honest conversation about how to create the changes you are seeking, and strategies to maintain these changes in your life. Working from a systemic perspective, we will explore your significant relationships and how they are impacting your current concerns. These relationships include friends, intimate partners, family members, and of course, the relationship you have with yourself. We will also look at any spiritual or cultural communities that are meaningful to you.

I hold a Master’s Degree from Fairfield University with a concentration in marriage and family therapy. Through this work I have an intricate understanding of where people get stuck in their interactional patterns and how to interrupt those patterns to create new,

more satisfying ways of relating. We will also take into consideration the role of the life cycle and how changes and advancements through the progression of your life can create turbulence across many contexts. As a mother of 4 children ranging from high school to adulthood, as well as a wife for over 25 years, a sister, and a daughter to aging parents, I have negotiated many of those life transitions and am able to meet you as both a human and a professional to help you navigate your way to the satisfying life you seek.

I am also a licensed attorney in Michigan and Connecticut with a specialization in divorce mediation and parenting plans. My experience as a mediator is invaluable when I work therapeutically with couples experiencing high conflict and parenting challenges. My ability to help you understand and communicate your needs, both to yourself and to your partner, is highly beneficial as couples work toward strengthening or redefining their relationships.

As a therapist I strive to be as real, relatable, and transparent as possible. I work from the perspective that we are relational people and that restoring or creating relationships is our best path to satisfaction. I bring compassion, humor, intelligence and professionalism to each of my sessions and strive to create a safe, warm, and trusting environment. I invite you to experience relational therapy and witness the positive effect it can have on your life, as an individual, couple or as a family.  I look forward to meeting you!
